Winter Entertaining at Home #1 – Host a Cooking Lesson, Then Eat!

I got an Instant Pot a few years ago. You know, that fabulous “new” twist on an old invention, an electric pressure cooker – and I love it! But why am I telling you about my new favorite appliance? Because a few friends purchased one recently but weren’t quite sure how to use it.

I hosted an impromptu cooking lesson on how to make a quick pressure cooker beef stew which turned into a dinner party and a perfect winter entertaining idea! It’s easy to do: invite 4-6 friends, provide a few apps and drinks, cook a meal using a new technique or appliance such as an electric pressure cooker, air fryer, or sous vide, then eat the meal you prepared.

Our homes are the most comfortable, warm and inviting places to hang with friends and families on cold winter nights, so why wait until a special occasion to invite them over. Of course, you could meet up at a restaurant for a few hours but wouldn’t you rather have the company come to you?

During January, we’ll be highlighting 3 additional “Winter Entertaining at Home” ideas: Nostalgic Game Night, Celebrities Night and BYO Craft Cocktail Night, complete with tips, tricks and links to our favorite recipes. Try a few to spice up your winter get-togethers and have your friends begging to come back the next week!
