- 1 16-ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves cloves, minced
- 4 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
- Sugar, salt, and pepper
Heat the olive oil in a heavy sauce pot, add the garlic and cook until soft. Add in the crushed tomatoes and a pinch of sugar. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for about 15 minutes.
Stir in the chopped basil along with an extra swirl of olive oil.
Serve with your favorite pasta.
