Matzo Toffee


  • 3-4 pieces matzo
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Sea salt

To Make: 
Preheat oven to 325. Line a heavy baking sheet with parchment. Coarsely break up matzo to cover sheet. Top with almonds

In a small saucepan, bring butter, sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of water to a boil, constantly stirring. Remove from heat and carefully pour over matzo. Even out mixture with a spatula.

Bake for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and top with chocolate chips. Let chocolate melt for a few minutes and then spread to incorporate. Sprinkle with sea salt and then refrigerate until set.
