Mexican Hot Chocolate


  • 1/2 ounce unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon sticks

To Make:

In a saucepan combine the chocolate, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and milk. Heat and stir until all of the chocolate is melted and the mix is very hot, but do not boil.

Add the vanilla and whisk until lightly frothy. Serve, garnished with a cinnamon stick or a dusting of ground cinnamon.
